Letting Go of Doubt: The Skill That Changes Everything
The moment you stop doubting yourself is the moment your life starts moving.
Good afternoon, It’s great to be here to talk about the skill “Letting Go of Doubt”.
I’ve been reflecting on the evolution of this work, going all the way back to 1999 when I hosted my very first Tuesday conference call. What started as the Golden Mastermind Mindset Call eventually became the More Heart Than Talent call, reaching hundreds of people week after week. Those calls weren’t just about information, they were about transformation.
And today, I want to talk about one of the most important transformations you can make:
Letting go of doubt.
Doubt Is the Hidden Saboteur
Doubt is subtle, but it’s powerful.
It shows up as hesitation.
It sounds like “I’m not sure.”
It feels like overwhelm.
But what doubt really does is keep you stuck.
It keeps you procrastinating.
It keeps you avoiding.
It keeps you preparing instead of executing.
Most people live in this loop, getting ready to get ready, never fully stepping into the life they say they want.
And here’s the truth:
You’re not broken. This is conditioned behavior.
The Ego and the Illusion of Control
Years ago, I studied a very deep concept: the idea that the ego is not the real you.
The ego thrives on duality, right/wrong, good/bad, win/lose.
And within that duality lives doubt.
Doubt creates confusion.
Confusion creates inaction.
Inaction creates frustration, and eventually, shame.
This becomes a cycle. A neurological loop.
Your body literally becomes addicted to the chemistry of stress, cortisol, adrenaline, what I call the “fight-or-flight cocktail.” And without realizing it, you begin recreating the same emotional experiences over and over again.
The Payoff You Didn’t Know You Had
Here’s where it gets real:
There is a payoff to doubt.
It keeps you safe.
It keeps you familiar.
It keeps you from taking responsibility for a new life.
Because if you let go of doubt, you have to show up differently.
You have to own your success.
Your relationships.
Your sobriety.
Your results.
And for many people, that level of responsibility feels uncomfortable.
So they stay in doubt.
Letting Go Is a Skill
Letting go is not a concept, it’s a practice.
Over 20+ years of speaking and coaching, I’ve seen this again and again:
The moment you begin to separate your feelings from your circumstances… everything changes.
You become less reactive.
Less anxious.
Less attached to outcomes.
You move out of survival mode and into presence.
And in presence, something powerful happens:
You gain clarity.
You access creativity.
You begin to trust yourself.
Presence Is Where Creation Happens
When you are present, you stop overthinking.
You make decisions based on value, not fear.
You take action.
I experienced this just recently. Within 24 hours, I brought in two new coaching clients. Not because I forced it, but because I was in alignment, clear, and open to receiving.
That’s how this works.
Not from doubt.
Not from hesitation.
But from certainty and trust.
The Courage to Be Honest
The breakthrough begins with one thing:
Honesty.
Honesty that this is a pattern.
Honesty that it’s not working.
Honesty that you’re ready to change.
From there, you access courage.
And courage allows you to let go of denial.
When you move from denial into honesty, you cross a bridge, and on the other side of that bridge is transformation.
Rewriting Your Internal Programming
Letting go of doubt is ultimately about reconditioning your mind and body.
You stop speaking failure into existence.
You stop rehearsing worst-case scenarios.
You stop feeding the same emotional addictions.
Instead, you create space.
And in that space, new thoughts, new actions, and new results emerge.
You Are Good Enough
At the core of doubt is one belief:
“I’m not good enough.”
But the moment you begin to challenge that belief,
The moment you start to acknowledge your worth,
Everything begins to shift.
You don’t become good enough someday.
You recognize that you already are.
Final Thought
Letting go of doubt isn’t easy, but it is simple.
It requires awareness.
It requires courage.
It requires repetition.
But most importantly, it requires a decision:
To stop living in fear, and start living in faith.
And when you make that decision, your life will never be the same.
Breathing, releasing, and letting go.
Have a great day.
